Sam + Clive were married at Chilston Park, near Lenham in the Summer. The weather was as you would expect, gorgeously bright and sunny, making it a pleasure to photograph in the amazing grounds. Everyone was really laid back and we felt like one of the guests, so had a lovely time. Congrats to Sam + Clive for creating a great day!
A few words from our Bride…
How did Clive propose?
Well it was New Years Eve 2008 going into 2009 and we had gone to Oakwood House for a dinner dance to celebrate my Mothers 60th birthday and our parents and some of my family were all there and we all dressed up in posh frocks and dinners suits. Unbeknown to myself everyone knew Clive was going to propose as he had asked my Father back in June on Fathers Day for my hand in marriage. After dinner and just before midnight Clive took me outside and got down on one knee and produced the most beautiful ring and asked me to marry him. I was so hysterical I had to ask after a while if I actually said ‘yes’? It was truly amazing and memorable.
Most memorable moment of the day?
We both feel that every moment of the day was truly memorable and it would be so hard to pick one as we can both remember every moment and will do for a very long time.
Favourite image and why?
We both love all our photo’s and every time we look at them they bring back so many happy memories of our special day. We were both delighted with the photos that were taken and how they turned out. We have decided that one of our favourite images is the black and white one of myself standing in front of the window of my parents room in the hotel where we got married. Its truly an amazing shot and one you would see in a bridal magazine everyone has commented on it.
Your favourite purchase?
We cannot really say we had a favourite purchase as such but the item we were most impressed with was our table plan. Clive found the company on eBay and it was such a smooth and efficient transaction and the end result was amazing and matched exactly with our theme.
First dance song?
‘The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face’ by Journey South – this is a very special song for us and means a great deal to us both.
Honeymoon?
3 weeks travelling around the West Coast of America – the best holiday ever! We saw things and did things we will probably never ever see or do again.
What advice would you give to brides reading this who are planning their wedding?
Do not stress and just take everything in your stride. We found visiting wedding fairs was a great help as you can see exhibits and try things before you buy. Do everything together!! We planned the whole wedding together and we were both involved in every detail apart from my wedding dress obviously and Clive decided he wanted me to organise the bridesmaids as, 3 out of the 4 were his daughters and he wanted it to be a surprise. When it comes to the day do not stress about anything as what will be will be and if anything does go wrong no one would probably notice anyway and you need to concentrate on enjoying your day as it will go by so fast you will not want to spend any of it stressing about anything.
